**Russia Attacks Ukraine with Drones and Missiles**
Russian forces have launched over 300 drones and 20 missiles, including ballistic missiles, at Ukrainian cities and villages since the start of this year. President Volodymyr Zelensky said on January 3 that these attacks have caused significant damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.

The first days of 2025 saw a series of Russian attacks against Ukraine, resulting in civilian casualties and destruction of many homes and buildings. Zelensky stated that the Russian army is also using guided aerial bombs to attack settlements near the front line every day.

Zelensky emphasized the need for Ukraine to strengthen its air defense system. He urged partners to help with this effort by replenishing anti-missile stock and increasing mobile fire group capacity. The president expressed gratitude towards those who are already helping Ukraine in this regard.
**Upcoming Meetings and Talks**
Ukraine will host meetings and talks next week to discuss strengthening the country’s air defense. A summit of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) will take place on January 9, marking the first such meeting since October 2024.
