**US Officials Criticize Zelensky After White House Clash**
US officials and Republican lawmakers are speaking out against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying he may have to resign following a heated exchange at the White House with US President Donald Trump.
House Speaker Mike Johnson said on NBC News that Zelensky “needs to come to his senses” and return to peace talks. Senator Lindsey Graham also weighed in, saying Zelensky must either change or go.
Zelensky pushed back against these comments, saying only Ukrainians can vote for their president. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also criticized Zelensky, stating that the US will “be ready to reengage” when Ukraine is ready for peace.
**European Allies Support Zelensky**
In contrast, European allies are rallying behind Zelensky. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the UK, France, and Ukraine will develop a ceasefire plan to be presented to the US.
The London summit also saw top Western officials, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, reaffirm their support for Zelensky and Ukraine.
**Trump Administration Seeks Public Apology**
Amidst this diplomatic fallout, European officials told Bloomberg that the Trump administration is privately seeking a public apology from Zelensky to mend relations.
