Ukraine’s President Meets EU Leaders in Brussels

President met with top leaders on December . He discussed how to help and the importance of a “just peace” with Western countries.

Zelensky said that he needs unity between Europe, the US, and other countries to stop . He said this is key to saving Ukraine from Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.

The leaders talked about protecting Ukraine’s system from Russian air attacks. They also discussed increasing Ukraine’s ability to defend itself by making more weapons at home.

In a separate meeting, Zelensky met with European Commission President . They discussed Ukraine joining the EU and using frozen Russian money Ukraine’s needs.

Earlier this month, the US announced it will give Ukraine $20 billion in loans. This is part of a bigger plan by G7 countries to help Ukraine with $50 billion. The EU also said it will give Ukraine 18.1 billion euros ($18.8 billion) in aid. The first payment will be made in 2025.
