**Peace Talks Set for Saudi Arabia**
Next Monday, officials from Ukraine and the US will meet in Saudi Arabia for peace talks. The talks come as the US tries to broker a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia after over three years of fighting.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russian President Vladimir Putin must stop making demands that only prolong the war. Zelensky warned that giving up on Nato membership for Ukraine would be a “big gift” to Russia, as it was something Putin had said was non-negotiable for peace.
**No Ceding of Nuclear Power Plants**
Zelensky also denied claims made by the White House that he discussed ceding ownership of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants to the US. He said that all nuclear power plants belong to the people of Ukraine, but that the US could take control of a plant under Russian control to invest in or modernize it.
**Ceasefire Conditions**
Zelensky said that for a ceasefire to happen, Russia must stop its air strikes on energy infrastructure. A list of key facilities will be handed over to the US at the talks, which Zelensky hopes will lead to protection from Russian strikes.
**No Territorial Concessions**
When asked about making territorial concessions to Russia, particularly Crimea, Zelensky said that Crimea is a Ukrainian peninsula and an “integral part” of his country. Despite being occupied by Russia since 2014, Crimea is internationally recognized as part of Ukraine.
**War Continues**
The war continues, with overnight strikes killing two people in Ukraine and injuring 10 others in Russian drone attacks. Zelensky called for continued military aid from European leaders, asking for at least €5bn to be given “as soon as possible”.
