**Russia Attacks Ukrainian City, Violating Ceasefire**
On March 27, Russian forces attacked the city of Kherson in Ukraine. This attack is a violation of a limited ceasefire agreement brokered by the US.
**Two Killed and Five Injured**
The attack killed two people and injured at least five others, according to the State Emergency Service. The Russian army shelled downtown Kherson with artillery for over an hour, damaging buildings, including a railway station and apartment blocks.
**Ceasefire Agreement**
A partial ceasefire on strikes against energy facilities was announced by Russia and Ukraine earlier this week. This agreement followed technical consultations between the two countries in Riyadh. Moscow claims that its side of the ceasefire has been in effect since March 18.
**President Zelensky Reacts**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack on Kherson was unjustified and called for a reaction from the US. He stated, “The city of Kherson is a civilian city, it’s not a battlefield.” The president asked Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to share evidence of Russia’s attack with the American side.
