U.S. President Donald Trump had claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin would allow European peacekeepers in Ukraine as part of a settlement. However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov publicly rejected this idea on February 24.
**France to Increase Military and Financial Aid**
During his meeting with Zelensky, Macron is expected to reaffirm France’s commitment to increasing military and financial aid for Ukraine. This includes support from the French National Assembly, which passed a resolution calling for enhanced support for Kyiv and the seizure of frozen Russian assets on March 13.
