**Ukraine’s President Zelensky Says Trump Must End War**
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky wants US President Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine. He made this clear in an interview with Bloomberg TV on January 22.
Zelensky believes that ending the war should be a victory for Trump, not Russian President Vladimir Putin. He thinks America, Europe, and China are stronger than Russia.
The war has shown that Russia can’t fully control Ukraine. Zelensky said that Russia is powerful but doesn’t spare people. He also warned that Putin might try to attack NATO countries.
**Trump’s Team Working on a Deal**
Trump’s team is working on a plan to make Putin stop the aggression in Ukraine. They aim to have Trump meet with Putin soon after taking office. However, no preparations for this meeting are currently underway.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that both Kyiv and Moscow would need to make concessions to achieve a peace deal.
**Russia’s Situation**
Russia is facing economic problems due to labor shortages and high interest rates. A Russian cargo ship has been drifting near Tartus since January 5 after leaving Baltiysk on December 11. Ukrainian prosecutors are investigating the killing of six captives by Russian troops.
**World Reaction**
North Korea is expected to send reinforcements to Russia’s Kursk Oblast, mainly gun and rocket artillery units. A telephone call was made to NSC employees telling them to leave the office immediately. This news comes as part of de-escalation efforts in the wake of the Gaza ceasefire.
The European Union will provide 35 billion euros ($36 billion) in financial assistance to Ukraine in 2025 through the G7 ERA credit initiative and the Ukraine Facility program.
