**Ukraine’s President Zelensky Talks of Territorial Exchange**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he plans to exchange territories with Russia if the US can bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table. This was stated in an interview with The Guardian published on February 11.
**Recent Incursion into Russia’s Kursk Oblast**
In August 2024, Ukraine launched a surprise cross-border incursion into Russia’s Kursk Oblast. Initially, Ukrainian forces captured around 1,300 square kilometers of territory. Although they have since lost half that area, they recently advanced 2.5 kilometers in the region.
**Territory to Be Swapped**
Zelensky said Ukraine will swap one territory for another. However, he did not specify which Russian-occupied land Ukraine would seek in return. He emphasized that all Ukrainian territories are important and have no priority.
**US Efforts to End War**
The US is working to end Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. US President-elect Donald Trump aims to end the war within 100 days from inauguration. Trump has also spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war and claims to have a concrete plan to do so.
**Upcoming Visits**
Ukraine’s President Zelensky is expected to meet with Trump in Washington next week. US Special Ukraine Peace Envoy Keith Kellogg will visit Ukraine on February 20, following the Munich Security Conference.
