**Ukraine Seeks Meeting with US President**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to meet with his American counterpart, Donald Trump. Zelensky made the announcement on January 21 at a conference in Davos, Switzerland.
Zelensky hopes that meeting will lead to an end of the war between Ukraine and Russia by this year. He also wants any agreement to be fair and reliable for Ukraine. However, President Trump has said he needs to talk to Russian leader Vladimir Putin before making any decisions.
**Ukraine Warns Europe**
In his speech, Zelensky also warned European leaders about relying too heavily on the US for security. He said Europe should become a stronger global player and not rely so much on America.
Zelensky highlighted Russia’s growing military power and its alliances with other countries. He noted that Russia is producing more ammunition and equipment than Europe, despite having a smaller economy.
**Global Conference**
The conference in Davos brought together nearly 3,000 people from 130 countries, including 60 heads of state and government. The event discussed important topics like European defense strategy, NATO’s future, and Ukraine’s approach to peace with Russia.
Other notable speakers at the conference included Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics. They talked about geo-economic challenges and the role of artificial intelligence in global cooperation.
