**Ukraine Refuses to Recognize Russian-Controlled Territory**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Ukraine cannot legally acknowledge any territory occupied by Russia as part of its own land. This statement was made during an interview with Fox News, where Zelensky was asked if he would be willing to give up land to Russia in exchange for peace.
**No Concessions**
Zelensky was clear that Ukraine will not make territorial concessions to Russia as a condition for peace talks. He specifically mentioned the annexed Crimean Peninsula and said that Ukraine is prepared to pursue diplomatic means to liberate it. However, he did not rule out the possibility of returning Crimea through diplomacy.
**No Ceding Territory**
When asked directly if he would give up Russian-occupied territory in exchange for peace, Zelensky replied, “We cannot legally acknowledge any occupied territory of Ukraine as Russian.” This statement reflects Ukraine’s long-standing position that it will not recognize Russia’s control over its territories.
**Russian Stance**
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he is willing to discuss a ceasefire with the US but would not make major territorial concessions. He also insisted that Ukraine abandon plans to join NATO, which Moscow sees as a threat.
