Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, said on Nov. 1 that the international community “merely watches” as North Korea’s military aggression increases.
Zelensky stated that if Ukraine was granted permission to use Western long range weapons on Russian soil, it could target “every camp” where North Korean troops were gathering in Russia.
The warning comes after reports that 8,000 North Korean soldiers are gathered in Kursk Oblast, preparing to fight alongside Russian forces within the next few days.
Zelensky, on X, said that “North Korea just tested a new missile yesterday. It achieved record time and altitude.”
“Yet, the world is only watching and observing this threat grow.”
He said that Pyongyang’s cooperation with Moscow had enabled improvements in North Korean technology, which are “already apparent.” Pyongyang’s military will learn from Russia’s “modern warfare” tactics as North Korean troops join them on the battlefield.
Zelensky stated that “the first thousands of North Korean troops are already near Ukraine’s borders and Ukrainians will have to defend themselves.”
Zelensky stated that Ukraine can see “every site in Russia where these North Korean soldiers accumulate–every camp”. Ukraine could prevent the deployment of North Korean soldiers on the front line if it was allowed to launch Western long range weapons at these targets.
“Instead, of providing the crucial capabilities for long-range, however, America, Britain, and Germany are watching.”
Zelensky urged China to exert influence over Russia and North Korea. He urged Beijing to show its commitment to ending this war.
The U.S., Germany and others continue to insist on the fact that such a move could lead to an unnecessary escalation of tensions with Russia.

SPP, the state-run gas company in Slovakia, said: “We regularly discuss this topic with our partners. However, the information that a gas supply agreement will be signed with SPP’s participation is not true.”
