**Ukrainian President Meets with US Officials**
A meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. officials took place at the Munich Security Conference on February 14. The meeting was initially delayed, giving the US time to review a draft memorandum of partnership submitted by Ukraine.
Zelensky thanked the US team for their time and said that his country is ready to move towards peace as quickly as possible. He also expressed gratitude to former U.S. President Donald Trump for his efforts to help stop the war in Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by U.S. Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and special envoy Keith Kellogg. The draft memorandum discussed at the meeting is part of broader talks on a potential minerals agreement between Ukraine and the US.
In exchange for continued support from Washington, Ukraine is willing to grant US companies access to its mineral reserves. This idea was proposed by Trump, who suggested that it could be part of a deal involving military and financial aid for Ukraine.
The draft memorandum has been finalized and handed over to the U.S. side, which requested additional time to review the document.
