**Russia Continues to Attack Ukraine’s Energy Sites Despite Ceasefire Claim**
Russian forces have hit Ukraine’s energy facilities eight times since March 18, when President Vladimir Putin claimed to have ordered a pause on such attacks. This was revealed by Ukrainian presidential advisor Dmytro Lytvyn.
“Moscow is a city built on lies,” Lytvyn said. “There is no surprise to anyone in Ukraine.”
Putin had announced a 30-day halt on strikes against energy facilities after rejecting a full truce on all military operations in a phone call with US President Donald Trump. However, the reality is that Russian forces have continued to attack Ukraine’s energy sites.
**Details of Attacks Not Disclosed**
The official details of the attacks were not disclosed by Lytvyn, but he stated that Ukrainian air defenses have shot down hundreds of Russian drones every night since March 18. Many of these drones were likely targeting other energy facilities.
DTEK, Ukraine’s largest energy company, reported no hits on their facilities between March 18 and 25, despite being regularly targeted before that.
**Ukraine Denies Russia’s Claims**
The Kremlin claimed that the Black Sea ceasefire would take effect only after some Western sanctions were lifted. However, Ukrainian officials deny this claim, stating that the energy truce has been in effect since March 18.
“We’re not going into all the details,” Lytvyn said, “but there have already been eight confirmed hits on energy facilities.”
