**Ukraine Plans to Boost Defense Production**
In a speech, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced plans to scale up the country’s defense production in 2025. The goal is to produce at least 30,000 long-range drones and 3,000 missiles.
The president said that Ukraine will continue to increase its own defense production next year. This growth started after 2022, when the country asked its allies to invest in its arms manufacturing.
**Denmark and Sweden Agree to Buy Ukrainian-Made Arms**
Recently, Denmark and Sweden agreed to buy weapons made in Ukraine. The deal is worth almost €535 million. Norway also plans to fund the production of arms and equipment for Ukraine’s forces.
**Ukraine’s Defense Industry Grows**
In 2025, Ukraine aims to produce more drones and missiles, including advanced versions of the Neptune missile. This comes after the country made significant strides in its defense industry since 2022.
The Ukrainian president noted that in 2022, a Neptune missile system destroyed the Russian warship “Moskva.” The system also damaged the Russian frigate Admiral Essen in April 2022 and several components of Russia’s S-400 surface-to-air missile systems in 2023.
**Goals for 2025**
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine aims to produce at least 30,000 long-range drones. Both state and private domestic companies are involved in drone production. The president also set a goal to produce at least 3,000 cruise missiles and missile drones.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov earlier said that Ukrainian manufacturers produced 100 missiles this year and successfully scaled up the serial production of R-360 Neptune cruise missiles.
