On 25 October, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced via his Telegram channel, that Russia would deploy its first North Korean troops to the war against Ukraine between 27-28 October. He was referring to military intelligence.
North Korea has provided Russia with artillery and missiles for its war against Ukraine. Ukraine and South Korea have reported that 3,000 North Korean soldiers, including special forces are training in Russia’s Far East. Kyodo reported, citing an Ukrainian military source, that 2,000 North Korean troops had relocated in Russia’s Kursk Oblast, near Ukraine.
