Zelenskyy’s strategy, which includes a non-nuclear package of deterrents on Ukrainian soil and a NATO membership, outlines not only a way to end the conflict, but also to secure Ukraine’s future role in European defence.
On Wednesday, 16 October, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered his “Victory Plan”, which is composed of five points, and three secret annexes, to the Ukrainian parliament.
The importance of the victory plan lies in coordinating with partners internationally to secure the necessary legal and military mechanisms to achieve Ukraine’s objectives. This plan is meant to be a framework to help both domestic and international efforts in bringing the war to an end, as Ukraine continues to defend its self.
Zelenskyy pointed out that Ukraine’s partners are responsible for the implementation of the plan, not Russia. Zelenskyy also said that Russia did not want a fair peace, and that Vladimir Putin “lost his head and wanted war.” Putin is “deaf” to everyone else and will not change.
