**Slovakia Threatens to Cut Power to Ukraine**
Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico has returned from a visit to Moscow with a warning: they may stop exporting electricity to Ukraine. This would be a big problem for Ukraine because it gets 19% of its power from Slovakia.
The reason is that Russia has been hitting Ukraine’s power system with missiles, causing major damage. Ukrainian workers are trying to keep the lights on using other sources like nuclear power and imports from Europe. But now this lifeline may be cut off.
**Ukraine Accuses Russia**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is behind Fico’s threat. He claims that Putin has told Fico to create an energy crisis for Ukraine by cutting off its power supplies. This would put a lot of pressure on Ukraine.
Zelenskyy warns that Slovakia will suffer if it cuts off power to Ukraine. Ukraine pays Slovakia 200 million euros each year for the electricity it imports.
