**Ukraine Reveals Heavy Losses in War Against Russia**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in February 2022. This is according to official data released by the President.
The number of wounded soldiers is much higher, with over 370,000 receiving medical assistance. However, half of these wounded soldiers are returning to combat.
**Contrast to Trump’s Claims**
US President-elect Donald Trump made a different claim about Ukraine’s losses just one day earlier. He said that Ukraine had lost 400,000 soldiers and many more civilians. This is much higher than the official number released by Zelenskyy.
Trump also claimed that Russian casualties were “close to 600,000”. However, Ukrainian officials say that Russia has suffered over 750,000 casualties, including 198,000 killed and more than 550,000 wounded.
**Calls for Ceasefire**
In the same post, Trump called for an immediate ceasefire and negotiations. He claimed he knows Russian President Vladimir Putin well and said it was time to act.
