Zelenskyy: Russia launches more than 1,100 guided bombs within a week

This week, Russia used 560 drones and 20 rockets to maintain pressure on Ukraine’s air defence and intensify air strikes near the frontline.
Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian President, revealed that forces launched an assault on Ukraine in the past week, using over 1,100 guided aerial weapons, more than 560 drones and around 20 missiles.
As Ukraine lacks long range missiles that can destroy Russian airfields and aviation, the high intensity of airstrikes on the frontline allow Russia to destroy Ukrainian positions.
In a post on detailing the scale and scope of the attacks, Zelensky highlighted Russia’s unrelenting aggression: “Russia does not stop its terror against Ukraine.” Daily aggression against the people of Ukraine, our cities and villages. “Strikes with different types weapons”
The week-long air campaign shows the high intensity of Russia’s air campaign. Guided aerial bombs are becoming a more prevalent threat, alongside drones and missile attacks.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is working closely with its in order to counter these threats. “We are working with our partners intensively to stop the enemy and strengthen Ukraine while providing maximum protection to our citizens,” the President said.
This wave of attacks highlights Ukraine’s urgent requirement for improved air defense qualifications, and for continued support to counter Russia’s sustained aerial campaigns. The fighters arriving in Ukraine could effectively counter Russian aircraft that launch guided bombs. To provide significant defensive capability against Russian aircraft, they would need missiles that could strike targets at distances of up to 185 km.
