He emphasizes the urgent need for international assistance in providing air defense and long-range capability.
On 13 October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia had used 900 guided aerial weapons, over 40 missiles and 400 drones of different types in a week against Ukraine.
In recent weeks the Russians have intensified their guided bomb attacks, targeting residential areas of Ukrainian cities. This is in addition daily missile and drone strikes by Russia. Russia launches guided bombs (KAB), long-range “kamikaze”, drones (Shahed), and missiles to terrorize civilians.
Zelenskyy stressed that no nation should be faced with such trials alone. He called on international partners to provide the quantity and quality of air defence systems, to make decisions that ensure Ukraine has sufficient long-range capability, and to ensure timely delivery of defensive assistance to Ukrainian soldiers.
The Ukrainian President stressed that it was important to not waste time and send a clear message of determination.
