Zelenskyy: Ukraine will rely on European assistance if US aid decreases after the November elections

, ahead of the presidential elections, expressed confidence in Europe as a key supporter for Ukraine, underlining the continent’s and economic advantage over Russia.
According to Ukrinform, Ukrainian said that if the US support decreases, he hopes Europe will provide him with support, as it is economically stronger than Russia.
Since February 2022, the EU has mobilized substantial assistance for Ukraine as a response to the ongoing conflict with Russia. The total amount of this aid is approximately EUR118 billion. The EU has also provided extensive humanitarian assistance including medical evacuations, and essential supplies.
“I want to remind everyone of the fact that Europe is much bigger than Russia. It’s a very strong country, both militarily and economically.
The plan is to not lose if the US support is weaker or decreases. We will rely upon ourselves, the of Europe, and the public opinion in the United States,” said Zelenskyy.
He also said that he hoped that the US policy would remain unchanged and that Ukraine’s support will continue.
Zelenskyy emphasized that US policy is not just about the White House, but also Congress, Senate, and bipartisanship.
The US presidential elections will take place on the 5th of November. Most polls show a tight race between and Kamalah Harris, each candidate leading in a different area.
Trump is clearly the frontrunner in economics, while Harris is a clear leader on women’s issues and gender .
His remarks came shortly after the House passed an important foreign aid bill that included substantial funding for Ukraine and , as well as allies in Indo-. The bill will now be sent to the Senate, where it is expected to be approved.
