**Opposition Leader Talks About Recent Protest**
A leader of the “Coalition for Change“, Zurab Girchi Japaridze, spoke to a news agency. He said that a recent 24-hour protest by the opposition was important.
Japaridze thinks that the protest showed people in Georgia won’t accept stolen elections. It also showed friends in the West that Georgians are fighting for their freedom.
The leader also talked about what he expects from the European Union. He said it’s unlikely to be good news. He thinks the EU will say that Georgia is still working towards integration, but they’ll review the benefits Georgia already has. These include an association agreement and visa-free travel.
Japaridze doesn’t have optimistic expectations. He thinks the EU might say they’re reviewing what benefits Georgia gets, rather than moving forward with integration.
