Russian Attacks on Ukraine: Death and Injury Toll Rises
Over the past day, at least two people were killed and 21 others injured in Russian attacks across Ukraine. Regional officials reported this on March 11.
Ukraine’s Air Force was able to stop many of the drone attacks. Out of 214 drones launched overnight, 114 were intercepted. Another 81 disappeared from radar before reaching their targets. These extra drones may have been used to confuse and overwhelm Ukraine’s air defenses.
In some parts of Ukraine, Russian forces also attacked with artillery. In Kherson Oblast, one person was killed, and three others injured. Governor Oleksandr Prokudin said that critical infrastructure, residential areas, and social facilities were hit.
A 73-year-old man was killed in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and a 68-year-old woman was injured due to Russian drone and artillery attacks. A house and garage sustained damage.
In Donetsk Oblast, seven people were wounded – four in Kramatorsk and three in Dobropillya – due to Russian shelling. Governor Vadym Filashkin reported this.
Three women, two men, and a 4-year-old child were injured in Zaporizhzhia Oblast as a result of Russian attacks. Governor Ivan Fedorov said this.
In Odesa Oblast, three people, including children, were injured during a massive Russian drone attack on the region. Civilian infrastructure was also damaged. Strikes hit a residential high-rise, a shopping center, and several shops, according to Governor Oleh Kiper.
