Czech Journalist Denied Entry into Georgia

On October 22, journalist Ray Baseley had his entry to Georgia denied. He posted the information on his social media, and a photo of the document he received from the border police. The document stated that he had been denied entry due to “other cases” as defined by Georgian .

Soon after posting, his partner commented that Baseley’s phone had been confiscated and his personal belongings were also taken. She then left a second comment, saying that she contacted the but they had not yet found the journalist. No one has provided an update on the journalist’s whereabouts.
