Archpriest Andria Jagmaidze, head of the Public Relations Department of the Patriarchate announced that Ilia II was tested for coronavirus. The result is negative.
Jagmaidze told journalists that only the secretary of Patriarch Shorena Ttruashvili, who tested positive for the virus, is currently in isolation.
“On Saturday, Lugar Laboratory conducted 55 test at the Patriarchate and all results were negative, even those of His Holiness, and Beatitude,” he said.
Shorena Tetruashvili is the Secretary of the Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia. She tested positive for Coronavirus on January 8, 2019.
