The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and police have arrested a married couple suspected of making an explosive device used in a terrorist attack in the city of Dnipro last December.
On January 9, the SBU announced that the couple was detained on suspicion of producing the improvised explosive device. They are believed to have acted on behalf of Russia.

The explosion occurred near a military enlistment office in central-eastern Ukraine on December 14, 2024. One person was killed and four others were injured, including two police officers.
**Separate from Suspected Perpetrator**
The married couple is thought to have acted separately from the suspected perpetrator of the attack, who was detained hours after the explosion. The second suspect was also accused of acting on Russia’s behalf.
**Evidence Found**
Law enforcement officials found evidence of the suspects’ involvement during a search of their new addresses. Mobile phones and clothes containing proof of their actions were seized. The couple has been charged with terrorism and could face life in prison.
