Court Hearing Continues for Eight Individuals Charged with Organizing Group Violence
A court hearing is taking place at the Tbilisi City Court. The hearing involves eight individuals, including Zviad Tsetskhladze, who are charged with organizing group violence during a protest rally near Parliament.
The court will review the pre-trial detention of these individuals today. Their defense attorneys plan to request their release without any pre-trial detention and propose bail as an alternative.
Zviad Tsetskhladze’s Attorney Speaks Out
David Chikhaidze, Zviad Tsetskhladze’s attorney, will present medical documentation regarding his client’s health during the hearing. He plans to request Zviad Tsetskhladze’s release in exchange for a bail of 5,000 GEL.
Charges and Potential Sentences
Three individuals – Zviad Tsetskhladze, Vefkhia Kasradze, and Vasil Kadzelashvili – face potential sentences of 6 to 9 years in prison. They are accused of organizing and leading group violence during the protest rally. The other five detainees – Giorgi Gorgadze, Irakli Miminoshvili, Insaf Aliyev, Tornike Goshadze, and Nikoloz Javakhishvili – face potential sentences of 4 to 6 years in prison for participating in group violence.
