Such efforts, he says, are counterproductive.
“It’s very interesting that the British ambassador remembered the suspension of “Wardrop format”, for example, 2 weeks before the election, when this meeting is held only once a year. The meeting was scheduled for June 2024 but was cancelled due to the British elections. Why was the adjourned session called back 2 weeks before the 26th of October? Is this an attempt to interfere in the internal affairs our country or an interference into the formation of voters’ will? The Georgian people must evaluate this. Georgians are very appreciative of all this. Such efforts are counterproductive. What else should we consider if you are interfering in the internal affairs our country when you distort the facts and provide information to the Georgians two weeks before elections?
In an exclusive interview with PressNews, United Kingdom Ambassador Garrett Ward revealed that the British side had decided to freeze its annual high-ranking “Wardrop Dialogue” between ministers for the first 10 years. He said that this was the first time such a thing had happened since the dialogue format was established. According to the ambassador, high-level meetings between the defense staff have been cancelled and a new cyber-security program has been suspended. The ambassador also expressed the hope that the Georgian government would return to a pro-Western stance after the elections and that trust between the parties would be restored.
