Anita Jojua of the “Unity – National Movement”, a faction of the Poti City Council has accused the “Georgian Dream“, party of using a novel method of election fraud by including healthy individuals in the list of those who require transportation boxes to vote.
Jojua claims the ruling party is trying to manipulate the voting process, adding healthy citizens to a list of eligible voters using transfer boxes. These boxes are usually reserved for people who have mobility or health issues. She called this a criminal act and expressed concern that these individuals could be bribed or forced into voting for the “Georgian Dream.”
Jojua warned Poti District Commission Chairman not to take part in what she called illegal activities, pointing out that her party had documented evidence of such actions. “Georgian dream, used to losing in Poti is doing all it can to get more votes. This new method of falsification has been discovered and we have verified the names of those who are falsely listed on the transfer box registry,” Jojua said.
She said that her party will respond to these actions as soon as possible, and that all irregularities had been recorded.
