Giorgi Gakharia expressed his sympathy for the civil servants who were forced to attend an event in Tbilisi. He stressed that their real power lies in their decision on October 26.
Gakharia expressed his concern about the civil servants who were forced to attend the election rally of the ruling party in Tbilisi. He encouraged them to concentrate on their choices during the upcoming elections on October 26 and not where they were forced to stand.
“I sympathize for all the people that will be brought to Tbilisi by force today… The most important thing is what they will choose on October 26,” Gakharia said in reference to the mass rally planned at Freedom Square by “Georgian Dream“.
Gakharia emphasized the crucial role of civil servants within the state and asserted that they should not used as tools by any party, including “Georgian Dream ” and “National Movement.” He said that civil servants are the backbone of Georgian society and deserve to be treated with political neutrality and autonomy.
Gakharia said that civil servants were the pillars of the state and not political tools for any political party or an individual’s personal interest. He urged them to vote their conscience, rather than be pressured, instead of voting under pressure.
Gakharia urged civil servants not to vote for “Georgian Dream”, or “National Movement”, which he claimed had used them in the past for party interests.
“Do not vote ‘Georgian Dream ‘…’ or the National Movement’, which behaved in the exact same way and learned nothing. Gakharia encouraged voters to vote for whomever their heart and mind dictate.
Gakharia made his remarks ahead of a large rally organized by “Georgian Dream” where thousands of civil service employees from different regions are expected to attend. Former prime minister Gakharia criticized both the ruling and opposition parties for their treatment towards civil servants. He urged them to make independent and thoughtful choices during the upcoming elections.
