**Georgian International Isolation Deepens**

The Council met today, and it appears that Georgian Dream’s elite will no longer be able to travel to the Schengen zone. Giorgi Rukhadze, founder of the Strategic Analysis Center, said PalitraNews’ Day’s Newsroom program that he is convinced this meeting will prepare the groundwork for stricter sanctions.

Rukhadze believes that the Council of Ministers will approve the suspension of visa-free travel for passport holders, which is considered a minimum measure. He also expects very strict statements to be made and for the groundwork to be laid for even stricter . Even if these sanctions are not approved at this meeting, Rukhadze is sure they will happen subsequent meetings.

Regarding the recognition of Georgian Dream’s credentials at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Rukhadze said that if it happens, Georgian Dream will try to use PACE as a platform to break their isolation. However, he noted that even if the delegation is present there, it won’t legitimize the Georgian Dream government and only provide them with a limited international interaction.

Rukhadze commented on Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit to the UAE and ‘s visit to , saying that Georgian Dream is attempting to create an illusion that they have some level of international legitimacy. He noted that these types of visits are meant to show their supporters that they have relationships with other countries, but in reality, they are in full international isolation.

Rukhadze concluded by saying that if someone has even a little self-respect, they wouldn’t choose their first visits to be to Hungary, Azerbaijan, or the UAE. This shows that Georgian Dream is trying to create an illusion of legitimacy rather than actually having any real international recognition.
