**Trump’s Ukraine Envoy Postpones Visit**
The Trump administration‘s special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has postponed his planned visit to the country. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said this on January 10.
**Why Was the Visit Delayed?**
According to Tykhyi, the delay is due to a US law called the Logan Act. This law restricts private citizens from negotiating with foreign governments without permission. The visit was originally scheduled for before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20.
**No Politics Involved**
Tykhyi said that the postponement is not politically motivated. He emphasized that all contacts should be made after the president takes office, which in this case will be Trump.
**Visit Still Planned**
The visit with General Kellogg is still being prepared and will take place once it’s allowed under US law. Tykhyi prefers that General Kellogg’s team comment on the timing of the visit.
**Other European Visits Planned**
General Kellogg is also scheduled to visit other European capitals, including Rome and Paris, as part of the Trump administration’s efforts to address Russia’s war against Ukraine.
