**Multiple Drones Enter Belarus During Ukraine Attack**
On December 6, a number of Shahed-type drones entered Belarusian airspace during Russia’s overnight drone attack on Ukraine. The Belarusian Hajun monitoring group reported that at least 10 drones strayed into the country from Russia.
The drones were spotted heading towards several locations in Belarus, including Homel, Loyew, and Mazyr. However, the Belarusian Air Force did not respond to the incidents.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 53 Shahed-type drones from Orel during the night of December 6. The Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 32 of the drones, while 16 were “lost” or failed to reach their targets. Two drones flew into Belarusian airspace, and at least 10 strayed in.
This is not the first time that Shahed-type drones have entered Belarusian airspace. In September, Belarus’ military confirmed that a drone had been downed over its territory for the first time since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. Despite these incidents, Minsk has not publicly criticized Moscow, its key ally.
