“Nobel”: The School of Mental Arithmetic is Now Available in the UK

Knowledge and intelligence are the most important characteristics of human being. They help one maintain a clear head daily life. Many people have benefited from the increasing popularity of and Abacus in the world. The “Nobel” School offers an online, program of Mental Arithmetic that helps children develop both sides of the brain equally. Nobel school encourages whole brain development through a mental math program that stimulates both sides of the mind. The Abacus is also used as a teaching aid.
The program is a scientific method of mental development based on arithmetic operations. Each exercise requires maximum concentration and simultaneous involvement of or use of different skills. This leads an equal, synchronous, development of both hemispheres.
The online course is now available in the UK.
Anano Chkheidze is the Head of Marketing at Nobel School. NOW spoke with her to find out about the benefits of Mental Arithmetic and Nobel’s success overseas.
What is mental arithmetic, and how does it differ?
Mental Arithmetic can be a very effective way to accelerate the mental development of a child. The method is based on training arithmetical calculations in mind. However, the benefit is not oral calculation but the equal and harmonious growth of both hemispheres in the brain. This improves the child’s analytical, logical, and systematic thinking, perceptions of cause-and effect relationships, communication, quick memory and creativity.
What are the benefits of teaching mental arithmetic to children?
Mental Arithmetic aims to help children achieve their intellectual potential and overcome challenges in life. The main way to achieve this is by equalizing the development of both the left and right hemispheres and their ability to work together. Mental Arithmetic can achieve this by the following methods:
Asymmetrical use of hands: Children learn mental arithmetic using a special tool called Soroban (in Japanese). Both hands are involved in the exercise, but with different fingers on each hand. The actions are so asymmetrical that the brain cannot automatically duplicate the movements on the other hand and is forced to work on both hands. Because different hemispheres control different hands, both hemispheres work equally during counting exercises.

Transferring the real calculator to the imagination – The second idea is to gradually free the child from using the calculator and switch to the imagined calculator instead. The left hemisphere controls mathematical operations, while the right hemisphere controls imagination. The abacus forces both hemispheres to work in sync, but on more complex tasks. Working on a mental calculator activates parts of the brain responsible for memory and concentration.
Development of fine motor skills. The calculator is small. The abacus has been designed so that using it with your fingers develops fine motor skills. The training in “speedwriting” increases flexibility of the fingers. It has been scientifically proven that developing fine motor skills is a great way to accelerate the mental development of young children. This is used in many educational programs.
How do children perceive the benefits of Mental Arithmetic?
Many students don’t understand the benefits of mental math at the start of their studies and just enjoy a quick calculation. Parents can see their child’s progress in school, their mental development, their new interests, talents, and concentration. Many Mental Arithmetic classes are available around the world. However, our curriculum is based on modern, which makes it easier to use.
How many students and where is the school located? Online learning is it possible? What age do students start learning?
The method is designed for children between the ages of 4 and 15 years. We have in Georgia and online training available worldwide. We have been operating the school for five years but introduced online learning two years ago right after pandemic began. Distance learning was a new concept and unfamiliar to parents at the time. We were able, however, to adapt online learning quickly and easily to children, resulting in a record number of students during that period.
The teachers at Nobel are carefully selected and receive special training following their selection. We are very concerned that, along with the transference of knowledge, the teachers can create an environment that will further enhance the children’s abilities and skills.
As we all know, Nobel School is already in operation in the UK.
Yes. We have more than 1500 students enrolled in our classes, including many immigrants from other countries. In the UK, we have launched online courses over the last few months. We are focusing on this project. We wanted to use the experience we have gained over the years and the results of our previous students to help children in Great Britain develop their potential and create a successful future. We want to help children from different countries integrate with each other by establishing ties. We offer a free one-month trial learning course. We are confident that the children who attend our classes see results quickly, and we make these courses as accessible as possible. The cost is , but the quality is high.
Tell about your future plans.
Our future plans include introducing Mental Arithmetic around the world to benefit as many children and adults as possible. Our first priority is to cover the English-speaking market, particularly Great Britain. We then plan to take Georgian services of high quality and profitability to as many countries in the world as possible. Mental Arithmetic is a way to inspire our next generation to strive for a higher goal.
