From 24 to 27 Oct, a 32-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, headed by Iulian Buai (Romania), will travel to Georgia to observe the parliamentary election, along with observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the European Parliament. They will also be joined by observers from the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
The delegation will meet with leaders and representatives from political parties and coalitions as well as the Chairperson of Central Election Commission and the Head of Anti-Corruption Bureau, as well as civil society representatives and media representatives, before watching the ballot on the 26th of October.
During the visit organized by PACE Elections Division, a representative of the Venice Commission (the Council of Europe’s group of legal experts) will provide legal assistance.
