**U.S. Citizens Divided on Ukraine Aid**
A new poll shows that U.S. citizens are split on whether to continue sending military support to Ukraine. The survey, conducted by CBS/YouGov, found that 49% of respondents want to keep helping Ukraine, while 51% do not.
This divide is not surprising, given the changing opinions within the Republican Party. Some Republicans have become less supportive of Ukraine as the war with Russia has dragged on. In fact, a previous poll showed that 33% of Trump supporters think it’s a high priority to limit aid to Ukraine.
**Concerns About U.S. Withdrawal**
The survey was conducted just after Donald Trump won the presidential election, which raised concerns about the U.S. withdrawing its support for Ukraine. The country has relied heavily on U.S. military aid since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
**Ukraine’s Battlefield Setbacks**
In fact, delays in approving a $61 billion aid bill earlier this year contributed to Ukraine’s battlefield setbacks. This highlights how crucial U.S. support is for the Ukrainian government.
**Previous Polls Show Similar Results**
A previous poll by Pew Research in July found that 48% of respondents believe the U.S. has a responsibility to aid Ukraine, while 49% do not. Democratic-leaning respondents were more likely to agree with this view.
