The Italian Embassy in Tbilisi is continuing its efforts to promote and introduce the diverse culture of Italy among Georgians. This time, the Neapolitan theatre group ‘Teatri 35‘ brought their play to Tbilisi.
“We have brought back the geniuses Michelangelo & Raphael, not through an art exhibition but through a theatrical performance that combines music with visual arts,” said Massimiliano d’Antuono the Italian Ambassador in Georgia, speaking to the many guests attending the Embassy event, and highlighting the cultural significance of this performance.
On September 9th, ‘Teatri 35‘, an experimental theater group with a history of 20 years, presented a performance devoted to Michelangelo’s and Raphael’s oeuvre at the Marjanishvili Theater. The masterpieces of Michelangelo and Raphael were brought to life by a series gestures, color schemes images, and music sequences.
The Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra performed music by Vivaldi and Bach, as well as other Baroque composers.
The Italian Embassy’s campaign 2024 to promote regional culture includes a theatrical play entitled ‘Michelangelo and Raphael, Genius and Divine’.
The event was organized with the support of TBC Bank, and ended with thunderous applause from the audience.
