**Russian Oil Depot on Fire After Ukrainian Drone Strike**
A fire broke out at an oil facility in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, following a reported Ukrainian drone strike overnight on February 5. Local authorities and Telegram channels confirmed the incident.
The Albashneft oil depot caught fire after being targeted by Ukraine’s military. The blaze was extinguished at 8:11 am Moscow time, according to independent Telegram channel Astra. No casualties were reported.
This attack comes as part of a recent increase in long-range drone strikes against Russian targets by Ukraine. These strikes are aimed at disrupting Russia’s oil supply and war efforts.
Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratev claimed that Ukrainian forces repelled a drone attack, with wreckage falling on an empty tank containing petroleum products. The extent of the damage is not yet clear.
The strike against the Albashneft oil depot was also reported by Andrii Kovalenko, Ukraine’s counter-disinformation chief at the National Security and Defense Council.
**Russia’s Response**
Russia’s Defense Ministry did not mention intercepting drones over Krasnodar Krai. Instead, they reported downing two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Kursk Oblast and two more over Belgorod Oblast.
The Kyiv Independent could not verify the claims made by Russia.
**Recent Attacks**
