**United Neutral Georgia Movement Backs Ruling Party’s Plans**
The United Neutral Georgia movement has expressed support for the ruling Georgian Dream party‘s plans to establish a parliamentary commission to investigate alleged crimes of the opposition United National Movement.
The movement, known for its pro-government and anti-Western stance, claimed that investigating only activities of UNM from 2003-2012 is not enough. They requested to expand the mandate to include four main political parties, which they accused of maintaining a “spy network” operating in Georgia.
**Allegations Against Opposition Parties**
In a statement, the United Neutral Georgia movement leveled serious allegations against opposition parties, accusing them of keeping the country in a state of constant flux and undermining its perception. They claimed that these parties have facilitated the legalization of espionage and announced plans to file a formal complaint with the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The movement specifically accused former President Mikheil Saakashvili and leaders of the Coalition for Change, Strong Georgia, and Gakharia for Georgia of being “spies”. They stated that the place of spies is not in politics but in penitentiary institutions.
**A Call to Purge Politics**
The United Neutral Georgia movement framed the alleged spying as an unconditional requirement of the rule of law. They asserted that purging the country’s political landscape of so-called spies is necessary for overcoming polarization and establishing a healthy democratic system.
This is not the first time the movement has demanded the crackdown on opposition. They made similar statements prior to October 26 parliamentary elections, proposing to prosecute voters who supported the United National Movement.

The United Neutral Georgia movement was founded in July 2024 by Nana Kakabadze and Gela Nikolaishvili. The group often echoes narratives of the ruling Georgian Dream party and has been accused of promoting anti-Western views.
