**European Leaders to Meet in Paris**
Next week, top European leaders will meet in Paris for peace talks about Ukraine. Germany, Poland, and the UK are among those attending.
The meeting is part of a “coalition of the willing” – a group of countries working together to help secure peace in Ukraine. French President Macron said their work would focus on three main things: helping the Ukrainian army, making sure Europe can protect Ukraine from Russia, and providing security guarantees for Ukraine.
**Ukraine’s President to Attend**
Ukrainian President Zelensky will attend the meeting next week. He’ll meet with international leaders on March 27.
Separately, the US has announced plans to hold indirect talks between Russia and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia. These talks start on March 24. However, European leaders won’t be involved in these negotiations.
**France and UK Lead Peace Efforts**
France and the UK have been at the forefront of peace efforts in Europe. They’ve been working together to get Western countries to provide security guarantees for Ukraine.
Last week, France and the UK hosted a virtual summit where leaders discussed sending a peacekeeping force to Ukraine. This week’s Paris meeting will be an important step towards finding a solution to the conflict.
