**US Congressman Slams Georgian Regime**
The government of Georgia is trying to sell the country’s future to powerful leaders, a US congressman has said.
Chairman Joe Wilson of the U.S. Helsinki Commission made this claim during a speech in Congress. He accused the government of responding violently to protesters.
Wilson stated that the Georgian regime rigged elections in October and is now trying to steal the country’s future. He claimed that they are selling it to leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iran‘s government, and China’s Communist Party.
**Protests Continue**
The Georgian people have been protesting continuously for 76 days. They want Georgia to be close friends of America and part of the European Union and NATO. However, their protests are met with violence and illegal arrests by the regime.
The government has also handed over a Black Sea port to China’s Communist Party and visited Iran’s government. This comes after Iran sent assassins to kill US President Donald Trump.
**Demand for Free Elections**
Legitimate Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili is demanding free and fair elections, according to Wilson. She attended US President Donald Trump’s inauguration in 2017.
