**Georgia’s Foreign Minister Meets Indian Counterpart**
The Foreign Minister of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, visited India to take part in the Raisina Dialogue conference. This is a high-level international meeting organized by the Indian government and a research foundation.
During her visit, Botchorishvili spoke at a panel discussion on “Compete and Cooperate: Securing the Future.” She talked about Georgia’s role as a bridge between East and West, and how it can help connect Europe and Asia through the Middle Corridor. This is a key transit route that could link Europe and Asia.
**Georgia’s Importance**
Botchorishvili stressed that despite being a small country, Georgia plays an important role in regional politics. She said that the country has made efforts to transform the Black Sea into a bridge connecting it with the European Union. However, this requires proactive investments and efforts.
**Security Concerns**
The Foreign Minister also addressed security concerns. Two Georgian regions, Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, remain under Russian occupation, which poses a threat to the region. Botchorishvili said that economic development and reforms are key responses to these threats.
**Partnerships**
Botchorishvili met with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and representatives of other participating countries during her visit. She also spoke about Georgia’s achievements in ease of doing business, open governance, and anti-corruption efforts.
**Other Participants**
The panel discussion included other high-level officials from Slovenia, Egypt, the United Kingdom, India, and more. The event was moderated by Samir Saran, President of the Observer Research Foundation.
